The Homeowners
Bruce wasn’t just a client. As Chris’s children’s math and science teacher, later their tutor and longtime friend, Bruce brought deep trust and a shared sense of values to the table. Their working relationship was built on familiarity, mutual respect, and years of genuine connection. This project was for Bruce’s parents’ home, making the collaboration even more personal.

The Dream
Bruce and his son Chris wanted to transform their yard into a private oasis. They had a few ideas in mind, but the property’s layout and existing septic system presented design challenges that required thoughtful planning and precise execution.
The Plan
Atlantic RIDGE focused on seamlessly integrating the pool and surrounding landscape within the limitations of the existing infrastructure. Privacy, flow, and harmony with the home’s footprint guided every design decision.

The Hurdles
Just days after project completion, a sudden three-inch rainstorm overwhelmed the property, flooding the newly built pool with mud. Chris and Nate were on-site until 11:30 p.m., digging trenches to reroute water and protect the space.
“We were in that pool. It was fantastic. Then it was full of mud.”
“Whatever it costs… we will make this right.”
The Reveal
Despite the setback, the team restored the property quickly and thoroughly. What emerged was not only a functional and beautiful backyard, but a space made stronger, more intentional, and more connected to the family’s lifestyle than before.
